PalauCel Relocates and Upgrades Cell Site in Malakal
Airai, Palau. Palau National Communications
Corporation (PNCC) has recently expanded Palaucel service coverage in the Malakal
area by relocating and upgrading the cellular antenna there.
Located at the Malakal Old Radio Station Site, the cell site is now fully operational as of June 28,
2013. It provides expanded cellular service coverage throughout Malakal, reaching
several new areas with better signals such as Sam’s Tours, PTC Quarry, PPUC, Franco’s,
Icebox Park, Marine Law, and the Marine Resources Office.
PalauCel, Palau’s first and only nationwide mobile telephone
network, includes a total of twenty-one cell sites providing coverage from Angaur
to Kayangel, including four in the Rock Islands.
Customers with WiFi-enabled smartphones (as well as tablets,
netbooks, and laptops) can also access more than 100 PNCC WiFi Hotspots with Prepaid
Internet Cards or PalauNet dial-up ID. Hotspots are located in Koror, Airai,
Melekeok, Peleliu, Angaur and Ngeremlengui. For a list of current hotspot
